Carbohydrates are an important part of a diet, but do limit your intake to healthy carb choices like fresh fruit, vegetables and whole grains.
A trick that works to lose weight can also be implemented in a diet to put on weight. Instead of eating three large meals a day, try five or six smaller ones. If you aren't used to eating a lot at a meal, this will be easier for you to institute in a diet to put on weight.
If you want a snack and need some extra calories, add a protein shake to supplement your diet to put on weight. You can put the powder in the blender with water, juice or milk. Using a flavored substance may improve the protein powder's flavor.
Before you start your diet to put on weight, you will need to find out how many calories you will need to eat. If you exercise, then you will have to figure for calories you burn while exercising, so that you can come up with the right amount to eat.
