Food is the most primary ingredient of life. Without food, there would be no life and the planet would resemble any other planet in the solar system. It is only because of adequate supplies of food that life in general and human life in particular exists on earth today. While food is something that cannot be replaced or for which there has so far been no researched alternative, it is important to know about food and health that will help a person carry on with their day-to-day activities and keep their health in good order.
The following are food and health that help man to live and to remain healthy during his lifetime:
1. The normal requirement of energy is supplied by food. Food supply must therefore be maintained at all costs for man to survive.
2. Health is the well-being of a human being. If a person has to have good health, then he or she must have access to good and clean food that would in no way interfere with his or her system.
3. To ensure good food intake, care and caution must be exercised while cooking the food. Hands must be clean, and the cooking area and food storage area must be kept spotless to prevent contamination.
4. One of the most important food and health is that food and health are co-related terms. Good food therefore means good health. Most health related issues today have been researched and found to be the result of bad food intake.
5. Food and health have so far been successful in helping man realize that, along with good food, what is equally important is the need for exercise. This ensures that the food that is being eaten is well disposed of; either as energy for growth or that it is expelled from the body efficiently.
