Liquid Diet Drink
There are certain reasons you may be put on a liquid diet drink. You may have a weight problem according to your doctor. You may not be able to eat solid foods for some reason. Whatever the reason, it is up to your doctor to tell you if you should be on a liquid diet drink. Liquid diets can be detrimental to your health if you do not care properly for yourself. If you have no medical reason to be on a liquid diet drink, do not consider it.
A liquid diet drink is supposed to have the nutrients you require to remain healthy, but for a normal person without medical issues it can actually cause health issues. This is why we cannot caution enough that you should not go on a liquid diet drink without approval from a physician.
A few of the options for a liquid diet drink include fruit juices, nectars, bouillon broth, carbonated beverages, cheese soup, coffee, tea, milkshakes, eggnog, gelatin desserts, pureed potatoes in soup, refined cereal, and yogurt. Each of these food items mentioned can be turned into a drink or are already a drink. Carbonated beverages and caffeine are not the healthiest options, especially if you have no solid proteins.
The typical liquid diet drink is more than just broth or fruit juices. Instead, the drink is meant to be a protein shake that has all of the essential nutrients required to keep you living healthy. The drink is often in powder form where you add water or milk to the powder in order to create a shake like drink.
You may have to ask your doctor for the proper liquid diet drink suggestion. Some options out there are not very tasty. In fact, they may leave a bad taste in your mouth. If you are on a liquid diet, you can assume you will lose quite a bit of weight because you will not be getting as many calories as you normally do. The typical shake is less than 300 calories, so you may only be getting 600 calories per day, which is not good for a healthy person.
