Women's Health Conference

Every year the U.S. hosts a National Women's Health Conference. The 2010 women's health conference is going to be held March 4-6 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This national event will draw medical professionals, as well as women who want to know more about their bodies. There will be 16 or more hours of continuing medical education credit (CME), with pre-conference workshops and relevant content to women's health topics.

The women's health conference has the purpose of garnering more knowledge for physicians to bring to their practices. A medical practice needs to keep up to date with current medicine, research and more. The women's health conference is one way to do this, especially because the attendees can share their ideas. Typically the conference is focused on getting physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and all other clinicians to the conference.

The women's health conference will offer an IUD workshop and an opening reception on Thursday March 4. This will begin the women's health conference. Friday offers more than 15 different lectures and events to attend such as the practical application of evidence based medicine, a breakfast program, Osteoporosis talk, aging and infertility, contraceptive choices and unintended pregnancy, and then a period of questions and answers.

The afternoon is filled with more about women's behavior, prenatal testing, surgical procedure issues, a few keynote speeches, and an exhibit hall. Saturday at the women's health conference will be just as busy. The third day is focusing on vulvar disorders, infertility, treatment options for abnormal uterine bleeding, and post menopausal therapies.

Attendees who have gone to the national women's health conference in other years find the topics to be helpful. They come away with a sense of new information and ideas for getting their clients interested in their health. Registration is required to attend the conference. The US is not the only place to have a national conference as other countries do as well. Local communities may also have women's health conferences to help local clinicians. The important point of the conference is to keep women involved in their health to stop certain issues from occurring or to deal with what comes along.
