Women's Health Education

Women's health education is evolving just as much as the information about women's health has evolved. To give a good example of how women's health education is evolving, we can look at the 1950's. A woman brought up in the 1950's was not supposed to discuss sex, birth control, their menstrual cycles, or other women's health issues. In fact many teenagers growing up in the 50's through to the 70's had trouble finding out about women's health, even from their parents. The 70's changed women's health education because the time became about free love and peace.

Still, some women felt it was hard to openly discuss women's health education information openly. Luckily, there were more and more women getting into the workplace and medical profession. It became alright to host sexual education courses in school for both male and females. Suddenly, women's health education exploded. Secrets were getting out!

By 1990 the SWHR was created to help promote women's health education. This company and others have focused on women's bodies as a whole, rather than just reproductive aspects. The findings in women's health education have been that women's health must be separated from men. They are two distinct categories.

For women this has been a great leap. Not only is more information and education on hand, but the enlightened are able to handle things more effectively. Diseases that can end a women's life early are being found, treated, and extending the life of a woman. In history a woman was likely to die earlier than their male counterparts. The studies were based on women dying in child birth and being the weaker sex.

Yet, it is the woman who has to go through childbirth, experiencing bodily changes a man could not hope to understand, as well as pain that they could never feel. With education being more available it is actually easier for women to be the longer living sex, especially when focus on diseases like breast cancer, heart disease, and other issues exists. Education is the stepping stone to finding answers regarding health issues in women, and now that the focus is on both sexes as individual sexes things are looking up.
