It is no secret that food can provide the energy and nutrients you need to be healthy.
Here is a look at some useful facts about food,
Eat food that is broiled as opposed to food that is fried, such as a grilled chicken sandwich instead of fried chicken sandwich.
Eat soups that are not cream based
Eat low-fat salad dressings instead of the usual type of salad dressing
Eat salad or soups instead of fries and other snacks
Substitute mayonnaise with mustard and ketchup
Drink water, low-fat milk and diet soda as opposed to regular sodas, fruit drinks, milkshakes, or whole milk.
Include grains and grain based products is slightly processed and have not been bleached or bromated.
Eat food that sis free of artificial sweeteners, flavors, additives, preservative and colorings
Some useful information on Nutritional food,
Avoid eating fat that is of little or no nutritional value. Fat comes in Unsaturated fat, Saturated fat, Trans fat. Unsaturated fat is liquid form vegetable oil, Saturated fat is solid fat like beef fat which is the worst and Trans fat is partially hydrogenated vegetable oil. Excessive fat causes arteries to clog.
Non-fat cow's milk or milk without hormones is the best. Choose non-fat milk or low fat-milk. Cheese has too much saturated fat.
Choose a juice that is100% real. Some of the best juices are orange, grapefruit, prune or pineapple juice. Grape, pear and apple are not that nutritious. Check the label of your fruit juices container to see if there's any sugar or preservatives added. Juice with extra vitamins is good.
Fresh fruit and vegetables contain a lot of nutrition. The most nutritious being orange, pink grapefruit, berries, kiwi, mango, papaya etc. Frozen vegetables may not taste that good even though the nutrition value is not lost. The most nutritious are broccoli, carrots and green beans are just to name a few.
Grains including oatmeal, rice, cereal and bread are very nutritious. Brown rice is more nutritious than white rice. Sweetened cereal is bad for the teeth as opposed to unsweetened whole grain cereal
Potatoes of different breeds give a lot of carbohydrate and other nutrients.
Beans are a wonderful source of soluble fiber and plant protein. Fiber is important to keep the bowels moving.
Meat is the main source of protein. Animal meat, milk and eggs contain a lot of protein that the body needs.
Fish is another good source of protein. The omega-3 fatty acid that is found in fish reduces the bad cholesterol.
