Good Nutrition Diet
A good diet is very important at any meal time as it goes a long way in determining all your other body functions. Each food category always has an important role to play in the body and that is the reason behind a good nutrition diet. Depending on an individual's activity rate and age factor, he/she may have variable demand fro specific foods in their diet to remain healthy. The main food categories needed by the body are proteins, carbohydrates and vitamins among other finer minerals. Balancing the right proportions of these foods guarantees your body's continued health and growth. To get a better picture of a good nutrition and diet, let spare some time and look at the different foods and what nutritive values they add to our diets.
Vitamins
Vitamins are a major component of the nutritive diet as it helps mainly in enhancing the body's metabolic system. Vitamins are mainly obtained from vegetables and fruits although some animal products such as milk may also contain the same in smaller quantities as compared to the plants. Other than helping in the body's metabolic system, vitamins are also very essential in the building of our body's defense mechanisms against diseases and the effective digestion and processing of other foods absorbed by our bodies.
As such, a vitamin deficiency will most likely occur when you fail to consume the right amounts of particular vitamins or in some rare cases if your body is unable to process the vitamins that you take due to some complications in your metabolic system.
Proteins
Proteins are the major body building blocks in the diet and must be taken in its rightful quantities for the body to remain healthy and to be able to replace any tissues that wear out naturally. Most of our body tissues die out after some time and need replacement for the body to function well; the proteins are the sole builders of these tissues and the lack of them may lead to nutritional deficiency and even stagnation in growth in the case of small children.
Carbohydrates
These form the back bone of our daily energy consumption and should be taken in large quantities especially for persons who lead very active lives. Carbohydrates are essential in the generation of the energy that your body needs to keeping motion and are obtained from grains and roots. Their absorption is usually much faster as compared to the proteins and vitamins. To be more accurate, the digestion of carbohydrates begins right at the point of chewing once you take a bite of the food.
