Salary For Nutritionist
A nutritionist's salary is determined by several factors .however there are at least some averages and basics which should be applicable. For starters, the most important factor is the qualification of the nutritionist. A nutritionist with an ordinary degree and one that holds a PhD will automatically earn at different scales. Other factors that determine the salary scale of the nutritionist is the location of the job.
The job location will play a major role since some countries have areas which are central and the demand for such personnel may be higher in these areas as opposed to others. The obvious market principles of demand versus supply will automatically affect the salary scale. An area where there are more nutritionist job offers and fewer nutritionists will lead to a higher pay scale as the few nutritionists may have the final say in their pay scale. On the other hand, the company employing the nutritionist is another important factor in determining the salary scale of a nutritionist. Companies with high turn over in business are likely to pay better since they make more. The amount of responsibilities that a particular nutritionist handles will also be another influencing factor when it comes to the pay package.
In any job category, experience plays a major factor in the pay package. As years go by and the employee gets to acquire more knowledge in their particular fields of work, they automatically become more productive and of course with high production rates, the pay package must automatically rise in accordance with the input. If we were to be more precise in determining the pay package of a nutritionist of average standing, most companies pay an average of $54,000 per year. This figure could fluctuate upwards or downwards depending on other prevailing circumstances.
Some of the highest ranking pay earners in the same job line as nutritionists include dietician specialists and dairy nutritionists whose pay package average about $71,000 and $69,000 per year respectively. This is not to say that their salary packages remain constant; they too are subject to the upward or downward grading depending on all the afore-mentioned factors. The country of residence also plays a major role in determining the pay scale of a nutritionist. This is because every country has its own ratings as far as employment and taxation of employees are concerned. Third world countries with lower GDPs may not pay their nutritionists as much as other developed states with higher GDP rates. As such, it would be right to state that the pay rate of a nutritionist or any other job description for that matter is largely dependent on the environment and country of residence.
