Despite the ban, authorities failed to prove the harmful effects of Ephedra and supplements with Ephedra, and the ban has since been lifted and the sale of the product allowed, albeit in restricted amounts. After all, deaths caused by Ephedra are nothing compared to the fatal side effects, and deaths caused by several conventional over the counter drugs. Sadly though, fake products claiming to be containing Ephedra have taken advantage of the existing controversies to flood the market.

The most important thing to take note in using supplements with Ephedra is to ensure it is used in proper amounts. Ephedra has been found to be effective in assisting with weight loss.
