Guide to three day diet

3 day diet (also called the military diet) is a very low calorie diet and quick weight loss program.This diet is intended to help people jumpstart weight loss; many heart patients have used this diet with great success. This diet works by using a unique combination of foods. When on the three day diet, these foods work together chemically and trigger a weight loss reaction of up to 10 pounds.

3 day diet should be adhered to strictly with no changes, additions, or substitutions. The following shows in precise measurements how this three day diet should be followed.

Day One

Breakfast: Black coffee, water, or tea; half of a grapefruit or pink grapefruit juice; and one slice of toast with 1 or 2 tablespoons of peanut butter

Lunch: Black coffee, water, or tea; 1/2 cup of water-packed tuna; and one slice of dry toast

Dinner: Black coffee, water, or tea; 3 oz lean meat; 1 cup green beans; 1 cup beets; 1 cup vanilla ice cream; and one small apple

Day Two

Breakfast: Black coffee, water, or tea; one egg, any style; one banana (some versions say 1/2 banana); and one slice of dry toast

Lunch: Black coffee, water, or tea; 1 cup of cottage cheese; and five saltine crackers

Dinner: Black coffee, water, or tea; two hot dogs; 1/2 cup carrots; 1 cup broccoli (or cabbage); one banana (some versions say 1/2 banana); and 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream

Day Three

Breakfast: Black coffee, water, or tea; five saltine crackers; one egg (or one slice cheddar cheese); and one 4-oz glass of apple juice

Lunch: Black coffee, water, or tea; one hard-boiled egg; one small apple; and one slice of dry toast

Dinner: Black coffee, water, or tea; 1 cup tuna, chicken, or turkey; 1 cup cauliflower or green beans; 1 cup beets; 1 cup cantaloupe or one small apple; and 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream

After you have completed the 3 day diet, you should eat a low calorie diet so you do not regain the weight you just lost. If you have additional weight to lose, resume the 3 day diet after taking a four-day break.

This diet works! I did it for a month, and lost about 20 pounds. But then the holidays came, and I gained back all 20 pounds lost :( This diet helps you to lose weight, but makes it very easy to gain it all back. You just have to control your eating. I've been back on it now for 2 weeks and lost roughly 10 pounds. The only reason is because I did over eat on the 4 day break. It really works! Follow it to the TEE! The veggies should be blanched only when eating, but if you like them raw, by all means eat them raw.

I've done this diet many times. The first time, I usually lost 8 lbs., I wait four more days and then lost 6 lbs. It's fabulous if you tell yourself "it's just for three days!"

Opinion from a personal trainer and nutritional consultant... (that has fallen off his horse lately lol) Actually this diet in it's duration is not unhealthy, it should be followed by a healthy diet on the off days and so should any diet every day/always but this particularly is not starvation and more healthy than most diets I have seen people do. You may feel starved because we are so use to the Super Sized portions we have become accustomed to today... Remember, if you are healthy and active, on top of hard workouts, this will not be enough nutrients for you but someone living a sedentary lifestyle could benefit greatly from this. Of course, you will get a lot of opinions, this is just mine and it is based on research and education.

@"Why Are You Promoting a Scam?": Actually, this diet is *not* a starvation diet. My aunt is a nurse on a cardiac unit and this IS the diet that patients are placed on when they need surgery and need to lose some weight before the surgery is done. Stop spreading false fears in people; while this is definitely NOT a diet to be followed on a long-term basis, there is absolutely nothing wrong with following the three-day plan every so often.

I've known this diet since I was in high school, I'm 48your now! I used to use it when I wanted to shed fast weight to get into a bikini! My mom was on it when she was going in for surgery back then thats how I got a hold of it. Now when I need to shed a few extra pounds fast I do it. Some people can not stick to long term diets. If you can do 3a days and try to eat healthier the other days you'll be fine. This diet does work but its not for long term dieting. People like myself have to learn to make better choices anyway. Your not starvng yourself, and its only for three days! My teenager and I do it together.

This diet works. It really does. I am a woman in my 40's. Completely healthy but struggle losing weight. I did this about 2 years ago and lost 14lbs in 2 weeks. I just started again yesterday and so far I feel GREAT!

Semms like you can adapt healthier choces such as a lean piece of fish or chicken intead of a hot dog and instead of saltines,perhaps a whole grain cracker. Other then ice cream perhaps can be replaced with greek yogurt and agave? I'd adapt this to be healthier and still, only short term.

@ rain. If you so not eat enough carbs and fat your body goes into a protection mode and stores your fat instead of using it for energy. Do the diet just as it is.

I Started this Diest Yesterday and Slipped During Dinner. i totally forgot and had Pizza. And a lot of it. Ha. But i still managed to loose 2 Pounds! I feel so much better then i ever did1 Just KEEP ON DRINKING WATER TO KEEP YOU HYDRATED. I haven't and i am very lightheaded..

GRAPEFRUIT and its juice can be very harmful to any patient ncluding heart patients wo ar on blood thinners -- do not do any diet including thi one without checking with your own family doctor AND your heart specialist first.

In the 90s I lost 60 lbs on this diet. It took six full months and I walked about 2 miles a day. The weight was what I had gained in my first pregnancy, however my daughter was 1 1/2 yrs before I started to diet. I did not regain any weight until I later became pregnant with my second child. I got this diet from my grandfather's heart doctor. It was used for patients that needed to drop weight for a surgery. You must use common sense when using it. I only did it for the 3 days per week, and ate well balanced meals/salads the other 4 days, conscientious of the weight I had lost, and not wanting to gain it back. It isn't a scam, but it also isn't for everyone. You should check with your doctor before starting any weight loss program.

This diet works. You don't really lose 10 lbs, maybe 3-5 lbs. The good thing about this diet is after 3 days my stomach shrink which I get full sooner when I start resumeing eating regular food again. I lost 10 lbs doing this twice a month with 3-4 days break in between.

How much lean beef, can i use whole wheat saltines, should i cook the carrots, does the broccoli and cauliflower need to be streamed? And i have another version of this diet that doesn't mention beets it says carrots. Sorry so many questions. I was doing the hcg diet and just couldn't take it any more. I like that this is only 3 days at a time. I might even be able to get my hubby to try it

i was 6'3" 280 before the diet. followed to the tee and lost 11 lbs in 3 days. i feel that it was mostly water weight. i urinated a lot after day 1. i did gain 3 lbs back in 5 days. i have been working out and watching what i have been eating and am down to 263. however i just want people to know that this is not a diet to live by. It is very good to kick start a life change, but the permanent results are how you take care of yourself after the 3 days.

This "diet" definitely works for me. I;ve had it for about 25 years now and just decided to start it again after alot of years...lost 11 lbs the first week....sure I was a bit hungry - but I drank lots of water and that quelled everything! A little headache the second day but nothing I couldn't handle.....now am on my "days off"......I feel great and will start again Tuesday on the 3 day regime! I am sick of people saying this diet is a scam and is unhealthy! I don't think so....how can eating vegetables and fruits with meat an unhealthy diet....yes - the calories are low - but your body gets used to it and your stomach will start shrinking immediately! It's a great way to get rid of the excess weight!

If you are on a statin medication you should not have grapefruit of any kind as it will nullify the statin drug.

I did this diet during a competition with my in laws during our version of "Biggest Loser" right before I got married. I lost 6-8 pounds each time I did it. I started it in February and ended in April. In the end I lost about 19 lbs. It is very hard and it takes a lot of dedication. It was recommended to me by my aerobics instructor. I will say day 2 is a lot harder because you eat less and for me because I do not each cottage cheese or beets it was very difficult. I actually skipped those (tisk tisk) but I still managed to lose some pounds. Best of luck to you all.

I started today and 4-29-14 I weighed myself this morning before starting and just doing the breakfast and lunch I have lost 2lbs. Cant wait to weigh myself in the morning. I did get a slight headache but drinking plenty of water will help with that. I have a few friends that just completed this. Those that exercised lost 10lbs and more those that didn't exercise lost 4-6lbs. It's only 3 days give it a try.

Yes, this works. I used it as a way of life, lost 37#s. Did it for 3.5 years was bike riding for exercise, felt GREAT. Then remarried, moved away from family and friends, couldn't deal with it. Got extremely depressed, went off diet gained 20#s back. Started back on this diet this morning. Am as determined now as I was 4 years ago....I will take it back off. No more fat me! EVER. Yes, it works.

I need to lose about 140 lbs. I think I'lluse this weekly, balancing the other 4 days following a weight watchers plan until I get about half the weight off I want to lose. Then I'll switch entirely to Weight Watchers and Zumba the rest of it off so I can tighten loose skin back up again.5

i have done this diet before and dont really agree thats its unhealthy as before i did this diet what i was eating was more unhealthy than eating fish fruit and veg !!!!!! any diet is easy to regain the weight you lose if you dont disapline yourself !! its always the 1st few pounds that give you the boost to carry on...i say go for it .. it is excellent and makes you feel great at the end of the week, but sometimes i only lost 3-4 pound at the end of the whole 7 days but happy with that

I lost 80lbs in two months using this diet. I did three days on three days off and drank about a gallon of water each day to fight hunger. I always have called it the starvation diet because you get a lot of food when you look at the plate but God do you feel hungry. Its because this diet is based on a chemical breakdown that happens with the different food combinations and it honestly does work. I kept the weight off until I got pregnant (funny how losing weight makes your body work the way it actually should! Imagine that!) This diet takes discipline but is well worth it for anyone sick of being overweight. I encourage all haters to try it and step on that scale the third day. If you didn't cheat you will have lost 10-12 lbs in those three days.

My mom dad and grandma did this diet ! My mom and grandma by only eating what was told managed to loose 5-6 pounds my dad managed to loose 11 pounds by eating what was told plus excerssising by runnin every morning with a bag around his stomach. This diet does work! It works much more effectively if you excerssise along with it! Good luck to whoever does it I know imma start it soon!

I too have had success with this diet and know it as the 3-Day Chemical Diet. It's designed to work according to the food combinations. If you can't eat peanut butter, try almond butter, but other than that, follow it exactly! No artificial sweeteners of any kind. If you don't like vegetables find another diet. It's not unhealthy when you only do it for 3 days. And you must take 4 days off. You can't do it all week. I tracked the calories on MyFitnessPal app and found the calories to be: day one 1050, day two 925, day three 800. I eat full fat cheese, 7g fat per hot dog and 2% cottage cheese. Trust me, your body needs the fat. Don't alter this diet if you truly want results. Drink 10 glasses of water and move! Walk at least 3 miles and track your calories all week on MyFitnessPal if you don't want to gain the weight back. It's important you learn to make healthy food choices and not fall back into your old routine. It's only 3 days! That's my mantra whenever I get hungry: "it's only 3 days, it's only 3 days". Don't give up if you only lose 4 lbs instead of 10. 4 lbs in 3 days is fantastic. Keep going!

You can't substitute anything, only add pepper and salt to the meals. If you are allergic to any of these foods I have no idea what to eat, bit if you are just a little crying baby who don't want to eat a hoy dog or cottage cheese cause you don't like the taste of it...suck it up, it's only a 3 DAY DIET!!! It worked for me, I did it once a month and lost 8 pounds every single time...justo try to eat normal and less sugar :)

Ok first off, idk why people are complaining. This diet WORKS. My friend and I went on it and she lost 12 and I lost 14 and that was just in the first 3 days. If you're just a gorger then don't complain. Don't substitute ANYTHING. And by the way, we lost that weight and that was INCLUDING cheating. I ate drumsticks (ice cream) and monkey bread and some cake. Granted I didn't pig out I just had a little but this diet is so amazing I could have a cheat snack a day and STILL shed the weight. I love this diet so much and nothing else compares.

I have done this for 9 days and have lost 9 pounds! It's fairly easy to follow. @ Brogs You don't have to drink the coffee it just gives you an option other than coffee. @Marie I have found you can substitute pretty much anything caloric intake is what I have been watching. 1 cup of beets is 58 calories so you can substitute another vegetable that will give you the same amount of calories.

Hi, I have seen people use this diet and I sure can say, I have seen the results, also given to me by a heart pasient, he got his whole family to lose weight when he had to lose and you could see the results, it definitly works, its my day 1 of the diet and so far its been easy and I feel fine, other than my baby keeping me busy its a good way to kick start your healthy habbits, I am over weight and have been trying to lose weight for more than 6 years now, I intend to keep at it for about 2 months,I refuse to get rid of my smaller clothes cause I believe it will fit me again, and trying this diet because excersise alone does not seem to work for me so keeping thumbs that I can fit into a 34 jean again soon ;)

Also, I am a hypoglycemic, so I can't just go around starving waiting for dinner. So I sort of cheated and every once in a while had a peice of plain toast with peanut butter on top. If you're absolutely starving don't not eat and torture yourself. Just eat something really small to tie you over till dinner.

Sorry, me again. I also got confused and for green beans and Brussels sprouts instead of string beans and beats bc I didn't know what beets looked like. And, I cooked them in a lot of garlic and butter and they were great and I still lost five pounds the first day. I also substituted a few things by accident, but it still worked.

For those concerned about the grapefruit because of medications: You can absolutely have half a grapefruit. It will not kill you to have half a grapefruit one time. I'm a clinical pharmacist. Eating grapefruit can cause certain medications to take longer to metabolize through your body, but one day is NOT going to be a problem. Worst case scenario, you can half your tablet the day you eat the grapefruit or if it's a stating drug, you can skip that day. Honestly, it's not a dangerous drug interaction for one day.

I have done this diet since the 70's and it works.I only loose like 6 pounds but I have a little cream with the coffee. The best thing is the ice cream it satisfied your sweet at night. Excellent diet and short term,it works and follow it with a healthy diet the rest of the week .starting again on sunday.

In the1990's I followed this diet every spring from March to May and by June I would be 12 pounds lighter!! On the 4th day my stomach would feel so shrunken that I'd eat light that day on my own and I'd eat whatever I wanted in the weekends!! Great diet!!!

This diet is very similar to the military diet. If you google the military diet, they will give you substitutions for anything that you don't like. I personally prefer this diet though because it gives you a little bit more food to eat.

All you're eating is sugar and the occasional protein so you don't literally die. I'm amazed 10 pounds is all you lose. "Low calorie diet after" yeah, because your body is in starvation mode and anything you do eat will be saved and not burned up right away.

Try oranges instead of grapefruit, it worked on a similar diet, yogurt should work instead of cottage cheese , that's what I'm going to use and previous copies I've seen also called for carrots not beets so I'm going with the carrots too

Started the diet 2 days ago, feel full and yes have to go urinate frequently. Every time I want to cheat I just drink another bottle of water. Tomorrow is my third day, so hopefully I will see a weight loss by the 4th morning. I have stayed strictly on the diet no cheating, can't wait to see my results. Good luck to you and to me:)

A cup is 8 ounces. I started 3 days ago and lost 5.2 lbs. Will resume exercising and hope to lose more by next week. Diet is totally doable but you just CAN'T Sautee the green beans in BUTTER! Really?! For those who don't like beets (which should NOT be pickled as that adds sugar) buy the canned variety at Walmart (check the ingredients). This is something I can handle. So go for it!

I just read that you can't use pickled beets.....I didn't know that and used them and lost 9.4 lbs on my first time doing it.

This is a nice diet but you have to cut back on your eating. You don't have to spend a lot money.its wonderful I can eat anything it taught me how to eat in small amout and be full. not eating for 2-3 people.

This diet will make you big as a house. I lost 15 pounds in 3 days but gained 80 pounds that year. This diet shattered my metabolism and it hasn't been right sense. BE YE WARNED...THIS DIET IS BULL****! It is chemical warfare and if you go on this diet you LOSE...NO HA HA

Love this my sister give this to me last night I decide to try it. Am starting on Monday cause I have a big birthday party on the weekend, plus there is a few things I have to buy. I t sounds great. I like what one person say we so used to be eating Giant size portion, our stomach is so stretch out that they will fell it only fill a hole. But our stomach have to shrink once that happen this will seems like fulling for us. My sister did try it. Was trying to fit into a dress for a wedding, she start the same week Wednesday and by Saturday she fit into the dress. Ya boo.

Someone was asking about how much is a cup a cup is a cup but it all depends how you want to measure it. In ml 1 cup is 237 ml. But all you can do is buy some measuring cups I have the one that say 1/3 1/2 3/4 1 cup you can buy them at Walmart or try the dollar stores it is so simply it tells you the measure on it. Check it out.

Just cruised threw 3 days on this diet Stuck to it verbatim ..... On Day one I weighed 228 and I didn't touch the scales till Monday morning. I weighed in at 220 So I lost a solid 8lbs. So not bad for not exercising at all. And 2 day later I lost another pound. Durring the diet I did not feel hungry, in fact the dinners actually made me feel realy full. But one weird thing happened on the third day I noticed I was urinating more freequently. Lol But the diet worked pretty well and was a cm portable experience... I'm now 2 days after and I'm keeping my mind on beter food choices and portion controll. So after my 4 day break I'm gonna experiment with substitutions. Almond butter or soy butter instead of peanutbutter. Etc.. OK I'll get back to yah ....

if you cannot have peanuts use almond or cashew butter. If you research how many calories the vegetables on the list are and how many calories the veggies you want to substitute are you should be able to make intelligent substitutions. if you cannot or will not eat grapefruit then try something else like oranges.If you make substitutions you may not lose as many pounds but you will still be better off than you were before if you learn how to control your portions and how many calories you are taking in. Don't complain if you stick to the diet that you didn't lose the weight. They said "up to 10 pounds". They never promised that everyone would lose 10 pounds!!! Use the diet as a guide and use the internet to learn about what you are eating instead of saying that it doesn't work. It is only supposed to be used for 3 days because your body will interpret the reduced calories as a threat and will change your metabulism to conserve calories thinking it is saving you from starving to death! It is important to drink water.It will help you to not feel so hungry.Yes you will pee more but it is better than givihg up on the diet. I wish some of the people who posted on here would learn to use the internet to inform themselves as they have access to learn so much that can help themselves instead of just using it to complain!

You can replace some items like oranges instead of grapefruit, chicken vs. tuna, almonds vs. peanuts, yogurt vs/ cottage cheese and smoked sausage links vs. hot dogs. I've done this diet off and on since 2000, and got it from a doctor I worked for who had his patients use it to loose weight before surgery. I found buying bags of steamable vegetable melody, chicken breast

This diet has been given to patients by doctors and hospitals before the patients surgery. I've done it several times and it works. It is not a scam and should not be used on a continuous basis but if used as directed it is safe and effective. Yes you will gain the weight back if you start eating unhealthy again so the results depend on you and you alone. You can't blame any diet for not working if you don't follow it to a tee and give up because you don't see results over night.

I went on this diet yrs ago alo.g with exercise. I lost 12 in 4 yrs. I was losing weight so fast it scared me. This diet really really works. I didn't feel weak or hungry. The best part was that, it doesn't cost you an arm or a leg to do it. Woohoo! I had almost forgot about this plan. So now am off again to finally lose 25 pounds. Yeah!

I did this diet for 4 weeks to jump start. Ate very sensibly on the 4 days off & there after. Over a few months lost 30 lbs & kept it off for 2-yrs now. No red meat - NO fast food - still had margaritas. Worked for me.

Please someone answer this Question? Can you spread the food out through the day? Example I spread my breakfast out until it's close to lunch time, I spread my lunch until it's close to dinner time ect. Please advise

I did the diet. It worked for me. I didn't yoyo..my ldl and bad cholesterol went down including my thyroid level.I kept when I stopped the diet I kept it off.I did this diet in 2009.still off. I'm going back on this diet..when I stopped this diet I started on my herbalife.so I lost more weight, after a while I got off of that cause it got expincive, I gained back what I lost on herbalife..so I'm going back on this diet sense it works for me..it is healthy if you have high Cholesterol,LDL, and underachieving thyroid.

I did this diet when I was 12 years old. I was overweight in 6th grade and I took the lunch with me to school. Only I did 3 days on and 1 day off then repeated it, I lost 60 pounds while on this diet, it really does work, and it's not unhealthy, people just aren't used to eating regular serving sizes instead of super serving sizes. I have recommended this diet to many friends, I am starting back on it tomorrow myself, I need to lose weight and get healthy again.

Been trying this program for a year and the most I have every lost was 6 pounds after 3 days and then gain 2 from regular eating on the fourth day. Then I go back to 3 days and lose 3lbs. Never anything past six. I even eat the cottage cheese and beets which I really hate. Think there is a better way to go.

I'd really like some feedback if anyone has any. I am on medication that I am not aloud to eat grapefruit, is there any sub? or will that just ruin the diet? I'd like to try it, but if not eating the grapefruit will cause the diet to not work then I don't want to waste my time and money on purchasing the food. Thanks!

I did this diet in 2008-2009. I did lose 10# every week. It lowers cholesterol and triglycerides and is very helpful for Hypothyroidism. I haven't been doing this diet since October 2009 I haven't gained any of the pounds I lost back then. I started on my herbal life lost more weight, got off of it because the price went up so I couldn't afford it, I gained the pounds I lost from herbal life.

Actually about the triglycerides and cholesterol and Hypothyroidism statements I said the statements by my own experience and blood work my Dr did at the time I was doing this diet. Of course it work differently from person to person dending on each persons health issues. So consult with your Dr. Don't anyone go on my own outcome..

I am on day two of the diet, i replaced graoefruit with the baking soda drink due to interactions with my medications, will use a smattering of hummus instead of peanut butter, I intend of doing it over the next four weeks. Ive already lost 1.4kg in one day. I find it amusing that people complain of putting weight on after going back to their normal eating patterns, that's exactly we are all on here trying quick fix diets, our normal eating patterns are not healthy and we have to learn to cut back, say no, and consider what we are shovelling down our throats, me included.

Some of us are bf "born fat". Our systems are very slow by nature, that's who we ar and when we give up on our health we take slow metabolism to a ehole new new low. Stick to it. Whatever level of exercise you are at add 15mins., if you are following this to a T make sure you are on a healthy low sugar regimen the rest of the week. It may be that you lose 1/2 a week that's a 100lbs in 4 years and you can ask yourself...have I managed to lose 100lbs in the lsat 4 years. Weight once a week at the most, please....your poor body is adjusting and here you are checking up on it twice a day, yeah you know you do. Mostly relax here's three days of meals you don't have to think about!!! If you have allergies that's one thing but for the like don't like folks... Come on now put on your big girl and boy pants you got this just do it!!! Oh ! Strange side note after two three months on the diet my hair and nails have never been so beautiful and I could never grow my nails! GOOD LUCK

I really never found the answer mom kept Askin can u push the meals out (breakfast at lunchtime lunch at dinner) as this is me as well! And u used this in the late 80's it does work im startin to Detox as im sluggish and holding kangaroo pouch I will miss my beer, maybe it's beer gut! But eager to get back to energetic!

Will you still loose weight if you don't take the 4 day break? I started the diet last Wednesday and lost 7.5 lbs. by Saturday. I intended to start right back up on Saturday but only made it through breakfast and lunch and then had Wings and things for dinner ;0( - but I still lost 1 lb. that day. Started back fresh on Sunday with no exceptions for the 3 days and lost 2 lbs. as of this morning. I Felt a little discouraged when I weighed in today only loosing the 2 lbs on the second go round but realized I lost 10 pounds in 7 days Whoo-Hoo. I'm just not sure if I'm sabotaging myself by going straight through without a break. I started walking on Monday and hope this will help. I also have a tremendous amount of energy and feel really good. Not sluggish at all. I'm in this for the long haul just not sure if I need to take the breaks because if I do I'm worried about falling off on the 4 days I'm not on the diet. p.s. I'm using the Kaiser 3-day diet which is very very similar to this one. @OnmyWay it's EXTREMELY unhealthy to do this diet all week. Really bad for you short-term and long term. Your body is not meant to live off of that few calories. Don't do it every day.

Come on people it's only 3 days; just eat what's on menu and it works. No substitutions! salt/pepper condiments only. And it's 4 days off not 3! I found doing it Tuesday thru Thursday was best especially if you have a busy social calendar on weekends. If you can't have grapefruit try another diet as the reason this diet works is the science in the food combinations.

I started the diet today with my boyfriend. We are both allergic to apples so I substituted it with the other half of the grapefruit. I am allergic to peanuts (all nuts) so I used wowbutter. We will see what happens but I've read all the comments and I agree it's a short term diet to be on. I needed a kick start and I believe this will help me. I plan to do it for 3 to 4 weeks.

This diet worked for me I lost 32 pounds and have kept it off. I tried many diets and none worked however no diets works if you go back and eat anything and everything thinking you lost weight. I try to eat healthy and I will eat something from time to time not good for me but I only eat a little which allows me to get over my craving. I love this diet and it works and you will not starve on it.

I am a runner, running long distances when I started running 20 months ago I lost 5kgs in 5 months. Yesterday I weighed 81 kgs. After only 1 day on the diet I have lost 1kg (2.2 pounds), I can't wait to see what I weigh tomorrow and the day after! I was on the weight watchers diet the last couple months, which is a really fantastic diet with awesome tasty food, including foods like home made pizza, pasta and burgers, berry smoothies, and crumpets, together with portion control and healthy fruit and veg of course. But at the end of the day you have to watch what you eat each and every day, it takes good planning and discipline and it's all you think about every day. Weight watchers you should loose 1-2kgs a week I only lost 5 kgs in 8 weeks because I cheated a lot. Now with this diet I've lost 1kg after just 1 day! So excited!

This diet might work if you are more than 20 lbs overweight. If you want to lose 10 lbs, have lean body, this is not going to work. Too much food.

I did this diet when it first came out years ago. The food combinations are suppose to be like a chemical formula. The chemical combination causes weight loss. That's why they say do not substitute foods. I would drink as much water as you want. It says where there is not quantity given, there are no restrictions, other then common sense.

Well, i'm on Day 3 and I have had breakfast and i'm glad I've done it.. I'm not large person but wanted to drop a few lbs. haven't been hungry..I did spread out my meals and I have not changed the diet in anyway.. (I says what it says) no reason to read in anything or read anything out.. I do agree if you are allergic to anything and it's not a sub written in the diet PLEASE try another.. There are so many out there.. I play to weight in the morning. I can tell already I lost inches. Tuesday -Thursday does work better for me also.. There are so many thing going on the rest of the week. Eating healthier the other 4 days or as long as you choose before returning to this diet will determine as any diet whether the weight returns or stays off. It is ONLY 3 days of your life.. CHOOSE IT or REFUSE IT ---STAY HEALTHY..

It Works as stated!! I was very sceptical but tried it and was amazed that it worked. My Brother lost over 120 lbs on this 3 day diet! He went from 300 to 180 lbs! I lost the 10 lbs in 3 days that I needed to. My mom had brought a sheet of paper home from the Summit hospital she worked at in Oakland 25 years ago. Getting ready to do it again to lose 15 lbs.

I tried this diet 25 years ago & it worked then & I kept it off for years. The last 2 years I got lazy & put on about 60lbs. I tried several fad diets and they did nothing. I remembered this 3-day diet & thought I should give it a try again. Well after 3 weeks & a little over 30lbs I feel great! I can walk again without hurting joints. I breath better & I've dropped 2 pant sizes. And my arthritis in my hands is gone--I think that is due to eating beets & drinking the juice. So, naysayers don't knock it! When I hit goal I will have to be careful the rest of my life but I know this is a good diet & it does work! BTW the first time I tried it many years ago I was working in a hospital & a Medical Doctor introduced the diet to me. He said it was as harmless as fasting for 3 days & I know of many religions that fast. Well I like this approach better. Again, I feel better than I have felt in 10+ years!

I had done this years ago in the 70s. It was a good kick start. On the page I had, it stated do not do this for longer than 1 month. No substitutes you can use pepper only if you want some seasoning..only black coffee ( I believe decaf) tea plain and lots of water I did loose 45 lbs in the month. That was with excersizing and low carb high protien the days you are off it .
